Story
This was originally supposed to happen last year! But unfortunately covid came along and like many things had to be postponed.
So, last year I turned 40 and I thought what better way to celebrate then to climb 3 mountains in 24 hours! I am doing this as I love a challenge and also thought it would be a great way raise money for charity.
I used to live in a small village where there was a Dementia hub called sage house, they are mainly staffed by volunteers who do an outstanding job providing a supportive and caring environment for people with dementia and their families.
I have some very close friends and family members who have either lost or have loved ones currently going through this emotional journey.
By completing this challenge I would like to raise awareness and funds for such an amazing charity, and would be very grateful for any donation towards helping me reach my goal.
Dementia is now the leading cause of death in the UK. It’s a devastating and complex condition. Every 3 minutes somebody will develop dementia. There is no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK. We at Dementia Support are there for all those who need our help. We reduce loneliness, give the best quality care and provide hope, supporting the whole family. Through the Coronavirus pandemic we continue to offer much-needed support to people living with dementia and their family, friends and carers.
