The Rowan Suite is used by our specialist bereavement midwife team for those parents facing the most difficult period of their lives. The suite is next to the labour ward, it has to be for practical reasons, but this does mean that you do run the risk of hearing other mums in labour and also hearing those first new born cries, which can be heart breaking to hear. The Suite requires some enhancements to make it as pleasant a place as possible for the parents who are using it. The two main things that will help are air conditioning & sound proofing, two things you won't immediately notice but would be very grateful for. This is what we are fundraising for and the hospital will be ready to make the changes as soon as the target is reached.
