Story
The Helping Hands Fund was set up in 2015 for the benefit of the wonderful children who are treated for cancer at Barnet Hospital’s, Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit.
As one of the oncology sisters of this paediatric oncology team, I see the effects cancer has on children and their families living in our local area everyday.
With funds raised for Helping Hands we aim to provide children with the most fun and positive experience we can. Your donation to Helping Hands Fund 374 can:
• Give children with cancer at Barnet Hospital a more stimulating and positive experience
• Provide family days out
• Provide ipads for children to use whilst in hospital
• Buy additional educational resources, such as number charts on dinosaurs or flowers
• Pay for children’s entertainers
• Pay for massage therapy
Recent funds allowed us to close down Kidzania for the afternoon and invite all of our patients past and present to enjoy the day with each other. The fun and smiling faces this day provided was incredible to see and what urged me to say......... I will run the marathon for them!
Please please support me on this massive challenge to support children who are in our community to give them some sparkle in their journey.
Your donations will come under the Royal Free Charity umbrella, but will be donated to the Helping Hands Fund, to use directly for our children.
With every step I run, however difficult it gets, I will complete this challenge with everyone of these children driving me and the beautiful memories of the angels that grew their wings.
The aim of the Royal Free Charity is to support patients every step of the way to make their experience the best it can be. For each patient that need is different. The Charity provides support through trained volunteers, additional equipment, improved environments and patient based research. The Royal Free London hospital sites include Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and includes specialist centres for rare diseases as well as general medical care.
