Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
When I heard that my friends Simon and Phil were embarking on an "End to End" John'O'Groats to Land's End bike ride (over 1000 miles in 14 days!), I thought that this would be an ideal oppurtunity to challenge myself and in the process raise some money in memory of my dad; for a Mesothelioma charity.
My dad; Frank, died last year aged 60, 12 months after his Mesothelioma diagnosis. Mesothelioma is a relatively rare form of cancer which affects the membraneous lining of the chest (the pleura) and, less commonly, the lining of the abdomen (the peritoneum). It is caused by exposure to asbestos; which in his case came from his work as a joiner.
The aims of the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund are:
Joining Simon, Phil and I will be Stuart (the organiser), Chris, Kev and Anthony. Physically; this is the hardest thing that I have ever done; averaging at about 80 miles per day; with all my camping equipment on the back of the bike, so your support will be truly appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
