Story
In September 2016, our lovely friend Lisa was given the devastating news that at the age of 41 she had stage 3 Myeloma. Prior to this Lisa had not been her normal highly active self for 9 months due to immense amount of pain. Lisa is thankfully currently in remission but has had an incredible tough journey to get there.
She was admitted via A and E where she spent 6 weeks, was in a spinal and neck brace for 18 weeks, had induction chemotherapy for 16 weeks then a stem cell transplant in March 2017. All this, plus numerous amount of doctor appointments getting poked and prodded and despite all this we have never seen Lisa with a more positive outlook on life!
We had never heard of Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma as it impacts multiple places in the body. Lisa has lambda light chain myeloma that affects 20% of those diagnosed with this cancer. Myeloma is currently incurable however it is manageable.
We are cycling London to Paris to raise awareness about Myeloma, raise funds for Myeloma UK and to help others diagnosed / impacted by Myeloma. This funding page is for both mother and daughter cross as we take on the training and this challenge together.
