Story
As you all know Caleb and Daniel were born 9 weeks early on the 3rd December 2016. Caleb was moved to North Tees Hospital within hours of being born whilst mommy and Daniel stayed in the RVI. It was awful feeling like one of my boys was alone without us.
We (Daniel and I) waited another 24 hours before being moved from the RVI to North Tees and upon arriving at North Tees I was an emotional mess. I didn't want to be there and I had all sorts of negative thoughts going through my head for example, why did I let my babies down by going into labour early, why didn't I feel like a mom, why didn't they look like normal babies.
Upon arriving the nurses on the ward were amazing, the quickly made me feel welcome and put me at ease, they also introduced me to the Neo Angels charity which had been set up by parents who had previously been in a similar position.
I was given a welcome pack with information and goodies for my boys which wouldn't have been possible without the help of Neo Angels. That night I realised I wasn't alone on this journey. After two weeks of being in Teeside I didn't want to leave the North Tees hospital, I felt like I had a new family in Teeside. How was I going to cope without them and their support.
The team were amazing at looking after my boys as if they were their own and helping us as a family cope through a very stressful time, so doing this walk is the least we as a family could do to say thank you to the team at North Tees and the Neo Angels Charity.
