Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and supporting ‘Cancer Research Wales’.
Many of us know someone who has been affected by this devastating illness. My family, like many others, have witnessed at first hand the impact it can have. Five years ago we lost a very special member of our family to pancreatic cancer and I am undertaking this challenge in his memory and also to raise as much money as possible to try and help ‘Cancer Research Wales’ achieve their goals.
Two years ago a group of us from South Wales took on the challenge of conquering Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise funds for the ‘Sparkle Appeal’ in Newport. We all reached the summit and helped to raise approx £35,000 in doing so. Four of us have decided to take on the Three Peaks in 24 hours as our next challenge and will have a busy few months ahead training!
The challenge begins when we depart Cardiff on the Friday evening and at first light on 26 May we set off to reach the highest point in Wales -Snowdon (1085m). After stomping back down the next stop will be taking on Cadair Idris (893m) and then finally heading south to the Brecon Beacons and our old favourite Pen-y-fan (886m).
All the money raised by the challenge will be spent here in Wales so please give generously and help support this very worthwhile cause. Your donation will help support potentially life-saving research so please dig deep if you can!
Thanks for your support
Carl
