Story
In September of 2020, my wife Melanie was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer which had also spread to some of her lymph nodes.
It was a difficult journey especially under the cloud of the pandemic, where trips outside were limited to avoid the possibility of catching covid and possible treatment delays.
After 6 rounds of chemo, 2 lots of surgery and then quite a few sessions of radiotherapy, Melanie finally got the all clear last year and rang that bell!
One of the great sources of help during the treatment cycle, was that afforded by Maggie's. They were a great source of information and support to her throughout and still continue to be.
I took up running a couple of years ago, so it seemed fitting to challenge myself to run the London Marathon and raise funds as my token of appreciation.
I can run 5km and have occasionally stretched this up to 10km but a marathon will take a colossal effort, so every £1 is really going to spur me on!
