Story

Luke was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma with metastatic disease in September 2014. Luke has undergone front line chemotherapy, molecular radiotherapy, surgery, high dose chemotherapy, stem cell rescue, and direct radiotherapy. Luke disease is currently stable but still requires further treatment. He is currently having Vitamin A Retinoid therapy with the hope that this treatment matures the cancer cells which then enables them to be fought off by further treatment or Lukes own immune system. Due to Lukes disease being classed as high risk... the relapse rates are very high. There is limited relapse treatment available for children who relapsed in the UK so Luke would have to go abroad to receive pioneering treatment. The treatment available abroad comes at a cost, and the only way to give Luke the best hope is by fundraising.

Luke is a truly inspirational lad and has fought back at every set back. He truly is a superhero himself... however I am going to be the superhero for the day to support Lukes Journey. Please help me support Luke and his family.

About neuroblastoma

Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer diagnosed in children under 5 years old. In most cases it is only diagnosed when it has already progressed to a late ‘high risk’ stage.  Even when children are tested clear of neuroblastoma after initial hospital treatment, a high percentage of children with high risk neuroblastoma will relapse and some children will not respond to therapy. When relapse happens there is no standard treatment path to follow, with clinical trials often becoming the best option.
