Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been selected to be part of something historic and magnificent while helping to make a huge difference to the lives of others; and after talking my mate Bazza into it I'm happy to say I won't be doing it alone!

We are part of an attempt to set a new world record for running the most continual Marathons.  ( see www.relaygb.org ) The current record stands at covering just under 2000 miles and we are part of a team hoping to cover over 3000 miles by running around Great Britain.  The distance is split into marathon-ish stages with Barry and I running from Lyme Regis to Exmouth which is not only longer than a standard Marathon but also includes almost 2000 ft of uphill! The world record attempt will take from 4th-21st May and to make sure that the whole event runs to clockwork we have to run our stage, on 6th May, in less than 4 hours! "So you must be elite athletes" I hear you cry! Hell no! Although we both enjoy a run around the beautiful Dorset hills neither of us has actually run a marathon!  It's going to be tough and it's going to hurt a lot....In fact I think I'm talking myself out of it... If you are so inclined then you can look at our route at: www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/69404168

So that is our challenge.

However, it is a small endeavour when compared to the daily battle of thousands of people suffering with brain tumours.  Unfortunately this is something which I have come to know very well over the past year as I watch my mum fighting every day against the disease.

That is why I am supporting Brain Tumour UK in their advances towards defeating this life taking illness.  A small amount of our sweat and your money will make a huge difference to the quality of life of many people living all around us.

Please give as much as you feel comfortable with and know that you are helping those in immediate need.

Thanks in advance,

Carl and Barry ;)
