Story
Can 36 slightly athletic music students from coventry turn themselves into endurance football playing machines. Is there a challenge involved in this, you bet!
The Challenge - To play the worlds longest game of football by beating the current record of 60 hours, set by loughborough university. To do this we will be attempting to set a new record of 72 HOURS OF FOOTBALL, with no half time. In other words, playing 48 back to back games of 90 minute football, Thats like a premier league team playing all their league matches in a season plus a few cup games.
We will be doing this with two teams of 18 players (11 a side full pitch with 7 subs) playing roll on roll off subs. Obviously there will be some structure to the way people play and Guinness will allow for small team breaks which can be built up/accumulated over time for the team to rest at the same time.
This is by far the craziest thing i have every done and quite possibly will ever do. However, the reason i am putting myself through this madness is to raise money for the christian music school, "Nexus." A great school dedicated to helping students seek a real and life lasting relationship with their creator. All of the money that i raise will go towards supporting Nexus and the future students who will study there.
If you like the idea of me playing football until i loose either my love of football, a limb or maybe both then please sponsor me as much or as little as you can. It's for a great cause so dig deep and ill see you on the other side.....hopefully!!
