Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising funds for the brain and spine foundation in memory of my sister Rachel.
Rachel Carpenter was born in Hereford on March 29, 1974. She had the biggest heart in anyone I have ever known. She was happy to help any person and always put other people’s needs before her own.
At the age of 35, on the 1st of May 2009, Rachel passed away after suffering from a brain aneurysm (subarachnoid haemorrhage).
What is a subarachnoid haemorrhage?
After suffering for 10 days, sadly, she passed away and left behind 5 beautiful children and close family that loved her with all their hearts.
Why Her?
We do not know why it happens and, in most cases, there is no way of identifying the people who are at risk. There is a slight hereditary factor: a very small number of people can inherit from their family a greater risk of having an aneurysm.
We still don’t know and might never find out what the cause was to the bleed on Rachel’s brain. This is one of the reasons for setting up this page, to donate money, for research of the brain so maybe one day we can put all the wondering to rest and grieve for our sister, daughter, mother and friend. She is much loved and will always be remembered by all her friends and family.
