In September 2023, 12 members of Leicester Neptunes Swimming Club, are swimming the Solent to raise money for the charity group, Aspire. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help to people who have been affected by a spinal cord injury. Through its many projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 50,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK, allowing them to lead a fulfilled and independent life in their homes, with their families, in their workplace and in their leisure time.
During the next 10 months, Careen and Alex will be training in a variety of water settings, in all weathers to prepare for this 3 mile swim next September. We hope to raise £1700 to help those supported by Aspire. Can you help? Any donation will go a long way to motivate us to keep swimming during the long training months. Any amount will be gratefully received and appreciated. We plan to keep a log of our training and will post regular updates of our challenges and successes, fund raising events and objectives.
