Story
When I was a youngster growing up in Leitrim I remember a woman and her young family moving back to the parish from England.
She had been widowed after her husband was fatally injured on a construction site in London. It was understandably a very sad occasion and had a very profound effect on our community. Thankfully fatalities have been considerably reduced if not eliminated in Construction, but they do occur as do serious
injuries which have terrible consequences for the families affected. We are lucky to have the Lighthouse Charity which provides great financial and emotional support to construction workers.
So as part of Cara Stationery’s 25th Anniversary celebrations I am delighted to participate in the Cycle from Leitrim to Kerry and help raise funds for the Lighthouse. I’m really looking forward to my visit to the Kingdom as I’m told that Kerry is nearly half as beautiful as Leitrim!
I know that there are many demands on the purse strings for charitable causes and people have been very generous with their giving especially during the current Ukraine crisis. I’m hoping that a lot of people can give a little to boost the Lighthouse Charity funds.
I am hugely grateful for any donations received; thank
you for your support.
