Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are heartbroken after our lifelong friend Cara McDonald passed away earlier this month. Cara has been friends with the three of us from our early childhood and will be truly missed.
Cara was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at a young age. Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative condition so over the years Cara has become reliant on her wheelchair and has faced many other obstacles in her life. However, everyone who knew Cara would agree that nothing life threw at her ever held her back. During her school life, Cara became Scottish Champion at Boccia, and then went on to work hard and gain her university degree in Biomedical Science. She didn't stop there and continued her studies and achieved her Masters degree in Public Health. Cara was a loyal friend and her great sense of humour, kindness and love of life will always be remembered.
The three of us were very keen to do something in Cara's memory, and we would like to raise some money for Muscular Dystrophy UK to try and help even a little bit to find a cure. Therefore, we are going to run / walk at least 5km every day in the month of June whether its' sun, wind or snow. This will mean we will do a minimum of 450km between us over the month.
If anyone would like to donate, no matter how big or small a donation, we would be extremely grateful.
