Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 26th March 2016 I will be heading to Kathmandu, Nepal to volunteer for VSO on a development programme for 12 weeks. This is part of the International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. Alongside other UK volunteers I will be teaming up with Nepalese volunteers on projects that offer support to improve sustainable livelihood opportunities for communities in Kathmandu. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It receives 90% of it's funding from the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) and aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term
community development.
As a show of commitment I need to raise £800 for VSO, who are one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS. These funds will go directly towards the work of VSO and their projects across a number of developing countries. The money does not go towards my costs - which are funded by DFID - so you can rest assured any contributions will make a real difference to the lives of people in Nepal and developing countries across the globe and allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the communities where they work. You can find out more about what they do here:

I will be organising a number of events and activities to raise funds which you can keep track of here, on my JustGiving page, or look out for posts on my Facebook profile. Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people across developing countries, so please donate what you can here, and come along to any events that may be happening in your area!
Thanks for your support.
