During the pandemic Captain Tom stepped up to support the NHS Covid-19 by taking on his famous walk and inspiring millions to donate. We are offering the chance to raise funds in the spirit of Captain Tom for the charity of your choice.

Story

Rowan is one and a half. She has a disability that means she has not yet learnt to walk or crawl, but she can stand with support, and take a few steps with help.

Her favourite things at the moment are birds, animals and trees (especially gulls!), so to help protect the nature she loves for her future we're going to aim to raise £100 for the RSPB, whilst Rowan gets some walking practice in! We will aim for Rowan to walk 100 steps in the park during this Bank Holiday weekend.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help my chosen charity.
