Story
Today there are around two million people living with or looking after cancer in the UK, and this figure is steadily rising with over 300,000 new diagnoses each year. These people can face tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions that can range from anxiety to loneliness and isolation. These challenges affect not only those with cancer, but their family and friends too.
Maggie's Centers provide practical, emotional and social support to compliment the excellent medical treatment that the NHS provides. They are a warm and welcoming refuge from the stress of the hospital; visitors can talk to the professional experts on hand about information and advice, or they can sit in conversation with other people who understand what they're going through, or they can simple find a quiet space to reflect and relax.
Your money will help our growing number of Centers around the UK continue to provide emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, and if you want to make a Monster difference for people with cancer, then please click donate.
