Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As a school we always want to come together to put our Christian values into action to help other in our community. For this year's Harvest appeal, we have chosen a charity close to our heart, The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity and specifically ward 86 and the Bone Marrow Transplant ward. Both of these wards have been treating one of our pupils, Lyara, helping to make her better. On Thursday 7th October all of the children will be taking part in miles4smiles, a sponsored walk, where we have pledged to walk 400 miles as a school. This is to recognise the many miles that families travel in order to receive the treatment they need. We will also be wearing hats to show our support to children who loose their hair as a result of the treatments they receive. The money we raise will go towards:
- providing state of the art and specialist equipment to help improve the diagnosis and treatment of children
-support research that can help us to better understand children's illnesses and provide the treatments of the future and
- help to create a more child and young person friendly environment
