Story
In his book In Place of Fear, Aneurin Bevan said: "What sort of society do we want to be? What is our vision for ourselves? What are the qualities and the principles that we aspire towards, and choose to defend?"
I look at the world today, and my tiny place in it, ask myself the question "What have I ever done to help people"? Very little. And then I look at our so called leaders and the successful business people I used to admire - almost every single one of them ultimately putting self interest over the greater good of society. I don't want to sit in front of my TV or phone another day watching and reading news or posts about politicians letting down the most important people in our society right now - the doctors, nurses and carers - without trying to help in a small way if I can.
I haven't run in 20 years, last week I got challenged to do a @runforheros 5K. I just about made it through in one piece. And now I don't want to stop. I've just finished my second run (some would call it a fast walk). Can I run 100 5Ks in 100 days? I'll give it a go. 2 down, 98 to go. If anyone can sponsor me on this mission the money will go towards helping NHS Wales - hopefully they can do a better job spending it than Matt Hancock...
