Story
My Dad, Rob Lucas had been battling cancer for the last 2 years and Sobell House provided him with amazing care, support & comfort within his last month of his life. The staff, nurses and volunteers all played a huge part in making those last few weeks as good as they could for him. The nursing care was exceptional, the support to us all through this hard time was extremely helpful and much appreciated. They supported in a day out to play his beloved bowls and enjoy a real pint as well as proving space for an early Christmas with all hi family.
For those that knew Rob, you’ll know that he was a character; one of a kind and many called him a ‘Legend’. He enjoyed life, was always very generous, loved being involved in every social event, and was known as the life and soul of the party.
He showed love to all his family, as a Father, Grandad and Loving partner. Supporting and caring us all.
Dad was also involved in many fundraising events for Sobell House after the support they provided for a good friend. Along with his friends, he has raised in excess of £40,000 for the charity and so we would love to help him continue this.
We are taking part in the winter walk organised by Sobell House; which is not a sponsored event, but registration monies go to the charity and allows us time to get together with friends and family to remember Rob. Any donations to further support this would be highly appreciated by all his family and friends.
For 42 years, Sobell House Hospice has been providing specialist palliative care to adults with advanced, progressive illnesses and supporting families facing loss. Each year, they provide more than 3,000 people in Oxfordshire with the care they need on their ward, day centre, in the local hospitals and in the community. By making a donation to my cause you are helping to make sure that more people can get the care they need.
