UPDATE****
I completed the Belach Mor Challenge on Saturday in a time of 7 hours and 26 minutes! It was a beautiful ride and we were lucky with the weather. The whole day was made more special knowing that so many of you have helped to make a difference to the Children of Cambodia.
Thank you.
***UPDATE
We were lucky enough to spend New Year 2009 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. While we had a great time sight seeing and haggling in the markets we couldn't help but notice that the kids were running round barefoot in the dirt or working when they should be in school. Pol Pot's regime massacred around 2 million of his own people. A large number of them were teachers and educated people. This has left Cambodia without a coherent education system for 2 generations. Camkids is trying to redress the balance by funding healthcare, orphanages and education projects in the country. Basic stuff that we all take for granted. So I promised to make a contribution on my return.
It's taken a while to get in shape. I'm riding the
Bealach Mor Challenge on September 4th. This is going to be 7 hours of hard graft over Britain's longest hill climb followed by around 7 more smaller (but steep!) hills over 90 miles. If you think my effort is worth it then please donate (even if you don't please donate anyway).
Thanks
Yonni
