Throughout 2016, Sarah Groves and Bekki Burns are walking the equivalent number of of miles it would take to travel between Coalville (where The Campbell Burns Metabolic Trust is based) and Campbeltown in Scotland, and back again. That's a distance of 331 miles each way, so we need to walk 662 miles in total. Campbell was a brave little boy, and it felt only fitting that his name should be included in our challenge.
We'll go on specific walks in the local area, and will record the miles in order to complete the challenge. Walking the kids to school or round the supermarket won't count! this is a challenge where we'll need to stretch ourselves and we'll need to walk over 12 miles a week - not easy when we're busy people with young families, but we want to give it a go! Leicestershire has some beautiful local walks, and you may see us on your travels as we clock up the miles. We'll be wearing our bright, blue Trust t-shirts, so give us a wave!
We'll record our walks and progress through Strava or Map My Walk, and will post the updates regularly on a designated Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/campbeltownandback/). We're looking forward to sharing the milestones, moans, and stories about blisters!
