Story
Hi!
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.
I have signed up to take part in a bike ride from London to Brussels for the Alzheimers Society.
One in three people over 65 will die with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society research shows that 800,000 people in the UK have a form of dementia, more than half have Alzheimer’s disease. In less than ten years a million people will be living with dementia. This will soar to 1.7 million people by 2051.
The Challenge
Cycling from London to Brussels is one of the great cycle experiences in Europe. Passing through undulating Kent countryside, we cross the Channel to Calais and ride north into Belgium through the lowlands of Flanders, via the lovely towns of Bruges and Ghent. After three long days in the saddle we finish the ride in Brussels in time for the Brussels Beer Festival so that we can celebrate our achievement in style.
We cycle 379km over three days on road with some challenging climbs en route.
I hope you will show your support by helping me fund raise for this incredible charity, who not only help those suffering from this terrible illness- but services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring.
Thanks!
