Story
I'm running the London Marathon in memory of my lovely and hugely missed father-in-law, Martin Gore. He dedicated much of his working life to the hospital and really believed in the wonderful work they do, having initiated a lot of it himself.
Martin was a wonderful man who made life that bit cheerier for everyone who knew him. He was the life and soul of every party and so much fun to be around. He died suddenly in January 2019 and we all miss him terribly.
I'm raising money to go towards the Professor Gore Industry Partnerships Hub which will be a facility to run robust clinical trials to promote innovative new treatments. This facility will enable industry partners to work together collaboratively to ensure progress. In order to better facilitate partnership working, the Marsden will create the Industry Partnerships Hub within the OCC. This will be a suite of offices in the building's Research Centre, which will be available to representatives from pharmaceutical companies who have trials open at The Royal Marsden. This facility will provide a dedicated space in which the progress of trials can be monitored, while also being housed in the same building as the Royal Marsden's researchers who are leading on the projects. The new Industry Partnerships Hub will enable a more efficient way of working together, speeding up the delivery of clinical trials and bringing new treatments to patients sooner.
His family is delighted to hear that this hub will be established and we all think this is something that Martin would have been overjoyed about.
Any money you can spare will be hugely appreciated and will go directly to fund this wonderful facility. Thank you so much xxx
