1 in 26 will get epilepsy during their life.  People don't talk about it, but I have had several important people in my life who have had seizures and epilepsy.  I learned to skate from a hockey player with epilepsy, one of my close high school friends has battled epilepsy, I have a cousin who had seizures, and someone in my family died from epilepsy several generations back.  

CURE Epilepsy is an amazing organization that funds research to find a cure.  One of the projects that they are currently running is a grant from the Department of Defense to study post-traumatic epilepsy.  Over 40% of combat troops who suffer severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) will subsequently develop post-traumatic epilepsy.

I am running for CURE because I believe that funding research to find a cure for epilepsy can save lives and help the 3.4 million Americans who combat epilepsy.  Raising money can have immeasurable impacts on their lives. Thanks for your support!
