Story

Ben Nevis is Scotland's highest Munro at a massive 1,345m / 4,412ft high. This is Scottish Adventure Cycling's 'Nevising Challenge' where during the month of October I’ve  decided to grind my gears and pedal my way to a total ascent of 22,960ft, the equivalent of  popping up go the top of Ben Nevis 5 times.

As a cyclist I’m often adventuring in remote , rural roads that in the event of an accident it is good to know such a dedicated service is in operation. As a previous member of local authority fire service I’ve seen at first hand the professionalism of these skilled teams in action,. Their resolve and ability to save lives is invaluable.

The SAAC  rely on public support to keep flying and responding to time-critical emergencies wherever they occur in Scotland. From their bases in Perth and Aberdeen they can reach 90% of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes, providing a vital lifeline to communities all over the country.

I hope it's a service that I or you never need the services of but should we you know you are in the best hands.

I will mix my climbing attempts through a mix of outdoor and indoor rides. (Indoors on Zwift or FULGAZ).

I hope you can join me in spirit by donating to this great cause. You may also wish to back a winning ‘snail’ as they pass me on some of the cycling climbs ahead.

Thanks and Stay Safe !
