Raise A Glass for Ben on 14 June

Callum Palmer is raising money for CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association
In memory of Ben Pavitt
Ben Pavitt's Legacy of Love Fund is a Special Named Fund at CCLG, raising funds for research into all children's cancers.

Story

Ben's friends and family should all have been celebrating his 18th Birthday with him on 14 June 2023.  He would have been enjoying his first proper pint in a pub!

Had his life gone to plan he should have been going to Le Mans this summer for an introduction to motor racing with one of his Godfathers.  He would have been at the end of his maintenance programme for the lymphoma with which he was diagnosed just after his 15th birthday in 2020.  Instead, childhood cancer took him away from us in October 2021, aged just 16.

To mark what would have been Ben's coming of age, and in recognition of Ben's strength and dying wish to raise funds to combat this terrible disease, and the lack of effective treatments aimed at children and young people, Ben's Godfathers - Callum in England and Justin in Australia - are joining forces with Ben's Dad, Mike and asking friends, family and anyone who would like to help us raise funds for better treatments for childhood cancers to donate £5, or whatever they can afford, in lieu of buying Ben a pint.

So, please join us in raising a glass to this magnificent young man.  May his example of strength and dignity in how he dealt with this illness continue to bring inspiration to us all as supporters of Ben Pavitt's Legacy of Love, a special named fund with Children's Cancer & Leukaemia Group, push on towards their aim of raising £100,000 for the fund by 8 October 2023, to fund vital childhood cancer research.

Cheers everyone!
