Story

Every donation, no matter how small can make a vital difference to many young lives. These donations make a real impact; to the children and their families, to strangers you don't know, and to families you do.

Please go to https://www.laurensmum.com/ to find out more about our journey as a family (written by my amazing Sister, Sarah).

If you have a few moments, please read about how your donation could be used.  Thank you for taking the time to read about how you can make a difference.

Your donation could be used to:

Fund life-saving equipment.

With the support of donors, Alder Hey were able to purchase 25 heated cots used to support babies who are premature and cannot regulate their own body temperature.

With funds raised in 2018, Alder Hey were able to purchase a Kinevo Robotic Microscope used to perform complex neurosurgery. This technology will lead to improved outcomes for patients and reduce the need for a second surgery.

Fund research

Alongside the state-of-the-art hospital, treating over 900 children per day, Alder Hey also supports research and education. This research aims to find creative and innovative solutions that will help our patients and their families as well as our world-leading clinicians in their work at Alder Hey. Alder Hey also fund numerous research studies across clinical areas including cancer, asthma and orthopaedic surgery.

Alder Hey Magic

Hospital life can be scary, unfamiliar, and daunting for many children and their families. Alder Hey are committed to providing the best patient experience possible. To do this, your donations help fund the Alder Hey 'magic'. From ward musicians, comics, art workshops and hospital-based entertained 'Barrington'. Alder Hey is committed to funding these projects, technologies, and experiences that go above and beyond what is available on our NHS.
