Alzheimer's disease and dementia is closer to me than any other mental health illness. I work full time in an EMI nursing home, and I see every day what dementia is; the different stages of it, and how it affects people, and the families of those who have it. I, personally also know people who have developed Alzheimer's within my family and my partners. I'm raising money for a charity that not only supports families affected by it, by offering support and training; but also invests money into researching for a better quality of life for those with the illness. If you know someone who has it, you will know that there is not enough money that goes into research for the Alzheimer's Disease. I wish to change that.
