We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGivingpage.

My Dad Tony was first diagnosed with MND in March
of 2020 after noticing an unexplained loss of strength in his arms. Tony is 74 years young and has led a very active life up to now.

I wanted to do something to raise both funds and awareness for MND. So myself and my old pals from university have set ourselves the challenge of cycling over 140 miles from Whiteheaven in the east to Robin Hood's bay in the west. This will be no small feat for us, as the majority of us didn't even own a bike never mind being proficient cyclists.

Some background on my dad Tony, he is stalwart of Caldicot Town Football club for which he played and managed. In his many years of association with Caldicot town he’s been a regular part of the social scene, from going on tours to fundraising bike rides for the visually impaired.

These days he loves going to the the club on a Saturday afternoon, watching all the home games and as many away games as he can, then having a few jars with the old boys. If you hadn’t guessed by now he enjoys all things football, and is even a Bristol Rovers fan for his sins.

In his working life Tony started as an apprentice at Scott’s Engineering and following that began 40 years service at Fairfield Mabey bridge builders. Tony machined all the girders for the Avonmouth bridge and doesn’t fail to remind anyone of that fact when he passes under or over it.

A committed family man to his wife Kathy and his children Claire, Paul, Mark and Kate. He loves spending time with his 7 grandchildren, the eldest is 16 and the
youngest is 1.

Please do you best to donate, all donations will contribute to the amazing work carried out by the people from MND. they have helped my Dad and our family throughout this difficult time.

Thank you,

Mark.
