Story
On 28 April 2019, I had planned to take part in the London Marathon, one of the biggest personal challenges of my life. However, as fate had it, 2019 was not my year to run the marathon. Both my youngest baby and my eldest received autism diagnosis’s within 3 weeks of each other and my world was rocked.
3 years later, I feel so privileged to be running in aid of Breast Cancer Now, a charity that is so very close to mine and my family’s heart. Their belief in me along with their support has been incredible.
In terms of the charity that I’m supporting, I have witnessed first hand the devastation that breast cancer can cause. My mum has fought breast cancer twice and won her battle each time and in December last year, I was called back after a mammogram showed shadowing on my breast. Waiting for further testing and results was one of the most agonising times of my life. I am thankful every day that my results showed I did not have breast cancer.
And this is why I’m running for Breast Cancer Now - to recognise the wonderful support and work that Breast Cancer Now offers to patients and their families, including mine, throughout their journey's.
Please donate so that we can embrace the charity’s mission statement - that by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live and live well.’
