My dad was diagnosed with Dementia around 8 years ago, and is now in a nursing home due to the advance of the disease.  He can no longer remember my face or speak very well.

Having lived with fairly mild symptoms for a long time, things went down hill quite rapidly during the summer after the first lockdown.  He was admitted to hospital with back pain and unfortunately caught Covid 19 whilst there.  It was the early days of the pandemic and the enforced isolation whilst in hospital really accelerated the onset of the dementia.  I remember phone conversations with him where he thought he was at work with my sister and kept saying he would be home soon. 

Dementia is a terrible disease that robs you of everything you thought you were, all your memories and experiences.  If with your donation we can help just a little bit to improve the lives of those with the condition - and their families - then I think that would be a great achievement.
