Story
I'm sure we've all seen the tragic case of Sarah Everard in the news and across social media. And more widely, the discussion around woman's safety.
We know that sexual violence against the women in our lives is a real and frightening possibility. It's why we ask them to "text us when you get home" or "take the long way". It comes from a place of worry. But it's not fair to ask our partners, mothers, sisters, aunties, nieces and friends to live in society this way.
It's an issue that's been close to my heart for a while. And it's an issue that men should be addressing, discussing, and leading the way in.
I'm going to get more involved in this cause. Starting small with a 10K run on behalf of Rape Crisis Scotland - who offer support services to survivors. But who also focus on prevention and educating young people on issues of consent, gender equality and healthy relationships.
Any contribution would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks,
Craig
