Story
I am running my first ever (and hopefully not my last!) marathon in October 2022. That's a whole 26 miles and 385 yards (or 42.195 km for you metric converts). Training is going fairly well and I think I'm going to be able to do it, although it will be with a grimace from 15 miles onwards!
Because the distance now seems achievable, I want to ask for your support. We are facing unprecedented times and many of us are extremely lucky in that we don't need to make the decision about whether we should eat or put the heating on. This is the reality for many people and this winter in particular is looking pretty grim.
Thanks to charities like the Trussell Trust, people have food banks to turn to when they are in need. But the vision of the Trussell Trust is for a UK without the need for food banks because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. The Trussell Trust are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.
So, if you can spare a little cash, please consider donating -- my legs at 22 miles will find a little extra oomph if you do. And if you can't manage that, make sure you pop an item or two in the food bank donation box at your local supermarket the next time you are there. If you're not sure what your local foodbank needs, you can find out here: https://www.trusselltrust.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate-food/
Thank you, from me and my soon-to-be-weary legs.
