Story
On the 27 October 2011 the Blue Cross Burford Equine Team are going to attempt to SWIM THE CHANNEL. This is a total of 22 miles or over 1400 lengths of a 25 metre pool. Their attempt will take place over one day only and each team member will have to swim approximately 100 lengths. The swim will take place at RAF Brize Norton after they kindly agreed to support us.
We are looking for your support to help raise money for The Blue Cross Equine Department. They work nationally to help rescue, rehabilitate and re home horses. Every year they take in many horses and ponies and care for them until a new home can be found. The Burford Centre can have up to 80 horses on site at any one time. On average the Blue Cross Equine department at Burford spends £60,000 per year on feed and bedding, wormers, farriers and veterinary costs.
Even a small donation can make a difference.
£5 could provide a horse at The Blue Cross with 2 mineral and vitamin health licks;
£10 would buy a bag of feed;
£15 would enable a horse to be wormed;
£35 would pay for a horse to have a dental check;
And £60 would provide a horse with a vaccination and health check.
Please give generously. Many thanks in advance.
The Blue Cross Equine Team.
