Story
It’s always a difficult decision trying to shortlist charities when there are so many worthy causes that work so hard to provide better lives for people. However Parkinson’s UK really stood out for this us this year as they have been working tirelessly for over 40 years to fund vital research into finding a cure for this debilitating disease. They are the largest Parkinson’s charity having raised nearly 70 million pounds towards vital studies.
They provide aid not only to sufferers of the disease but their families and carers too. They have set up various local support groups and free confidential helplines so that people have the assistance and friendship they need. Their aim is to make sure everyone has access to high quality care in the form of specialist trained support workers and nurses. They are tirelessly working to change attitudes towards Parkinson’s disease and dismantle any myths surrounding the illness making sure there is readily available training and resources for everyone.
The charity relies entirely on donations to fund their work and this is where we come in. We are kindly asking our loyal fans to make a small donation of minimum one pound to Parkinson UK to assist alongside our staff fundraising event taking place on Friday 17th July. You can donate £1 via text by texting the code BWFC47 followed by the amount to 70070 eg BWFC47 £1 to 70070. Any donations above this can be made via the just giving page
Please remember to leave your name on the text or online donation and in return we will be putting names into a raffle for 5 lucky people to win 2 tickets to a home league game of their choice this upcoming season . The draw will be made on Friday 14th August.
We thank you in advance for your support.
