Throughout the next half term the whole school will be invited to take part in The School’s charity BGS Channel Swim  to raise money for MIND.  

We intend to swim the Channel (in Bury!) - this impressive distance-swim is probably one of the most well-known swim routes in the UK and importantly, can be converted into near exact lengths of our BGS swimming pool! Together, our school intends to swim the distance of all 21 miles of the English Channel – a whopping 1,869 lengths of our BGS pool!  

Each year group, from our Kindergarten children to our Sixth Form students, and our staff, will be encouraged to dive, jump, slide, or step into our pool and swim across ‘the Channel’ together.   

Every year group plus our staff members will be given a target number of widths or lengths to swim; however, the main aim is for everyone to get swimming, have fun, be part of a brilliant team and raise awareness and funds for MIND.
