Story
Going one better than the gentlemen last year, on Friday 21 March 2014 two very brave ladies - Jayne Prior and Ruby Bodhanya - will be shaving their heads for Anna's Hope.
Anna's Hope, a local charity, was set up by Carole and Robert Hughes in memory of their daughter, Anna, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February 2005. Sadly, Anna lost her battle in May 2006 aged 3 years and 8 months.
Following research and discussion with Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, Tadworth Children's Trust and Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, Rob and Carole discovered that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and that research was seriously under-funded compared to other cancers. With the support of Anna's Godparents and close friends, they set up Anna's Hope to help other children and young people diagnosed with brain tumours to give them hope for a better future.
