Story
“For it is in giving that we receive” - St. Francis of Assisi -
We are a group of friends that over the years has dedicated time to various fundraising projects for people in need. After our success with our previous project “Hygiene Project” that made the construction of toilets at a primary school in Ghana, Africa, possible, we are now moving forward with a new project!
“The School Project” aims to fundraise money for the purchase of desks and chairs for the classrooms at a vocational school at Kumasi area in Ghana.
Education is not always given to girls in some rular areas of Ghana. Young girls do not attend school due to poverty, and education was a greater priority for boys. The brand-new "Vocation school" supported by Enliven Mamma Africa aims to empower these girls to earn a sustainable income through vocational skill training e.g. cooking, sewing, hairdressing, soap making and etc. Currently, the school is in need of desks and chairs for its 4 out of its 6 classrooms and 1 library.
So far, we were able to fundraise the amount of $700. The money has been already used for the purchase of 60 desks and chairs for 2 out of the 6 classrooms at the vocational school (see pics and receipts). Let's keep it up!
We believe that building a healthy learning environment by providing the basics can contribute to a productive and beneficial education!
A small donation can go a long way! A desk or a chair can make a lot of difference!
