Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On October 7th 2012, having started our 2nd year at University, we will be running in the Basingstoke Half Marathon in memory of our good friend Georgia Tait. Georgia unfortunately passed away, at the age of 18, in the Summer of 2011 after being diagnosed with Meningitis B .
Meningitis B is a relatively unknown and potent bacterial infection which can be lethal within a short amount of time. The deceptive nature of the illness is that it only causes flu like symptoms until a rash appears, by which time it is usually too late.
We are commiting to this half marathon not only to raise money for the charity but also to raise awareness of Meningitis.
Having already joined a gym, we are set to start an intense 10 week training regime (which includes a strict diet plan and limited alcohol consumption) to ensure we finish the race in excellent time.
Whether you were close to Georgia or not, this is a fantastic cause and any support/donation towards our £1000 target would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
Adam Russell and Danny Watts x
