Story
Very early on in Ella's Journey, we became aware of The Brain Tumour Charity. We used them in the early days to gain more insight into Ella's diagnosis and found their information easy to digest when surrounded by a world of medical terms.
As Ella's treatment progressed we realised what an incredible job they do educating, researching and raising funds for an extremely underfunded disease. Below is some more information as provided by the charity:
- At least 88,000 children and adults are currently estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK.
- Just 12% of adults survive for five years after diagnosis and brain tumours reduce life expectancy by an average of 27 years – the highest of any cancer.
- Despite this, treatments haven't changed in 40 years and research into brain tumours is still woefully underfunded. In fact, just 3% of the money spent each year on cancer research in the UK is spent on brain tumours.
So please help us raise vital funds so people like Ella have the best chance of a brighter future.
