Story
When I signed up to the London Marathon I said that I would like to run for a charity that was local to the North East and also meant a lot to me. Sir Bobby Robson was one of the game of football's greatest managers, a true gentleman and a North East legend. I always loved Sir Bobby with his big smile and links to the Toon, England and Ipswich Town so to support his foundation really is important to me. The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation funds a range of innovative cancer projects for children and adults with cancer. The research and clinical trials funded are not only making a huge difference to patients in the North East receiving treatment now, they are part of long-term national and international efforts into the disease. I am hoping that it is Sir Bobby's positive vision of a future without cancer that will get me through all 42kms on the 23rd April !!!!!
