My son was born on the 21/06/19 with a heart defect it was a very emotional and draining time for us he had open heart surgery on the 26/06/19 and had his arch repaired along side a primum ASD closure with autologous pericardium and direct closure of secundum ASD at just 5 days old by the amazing surgeon carin van doorn surgery lasted 4 hours and was the scariest time of our lives waiting for the phone call to tell us that surgery was successful when my phone rang I was frightened to answer when I did the first words I heard was surgery was successful and I had the biggest smile ever I was the happiest mum alive we spent another 10 days in hospital while my beautiful boy recovered from his surgery and we finally got to take our heart warrior home on the 06/07/19 that was happiest time of our life’s he has regular heart scans but he is so healthy happy and has his whole life ahead of him thanks to carin van doorn and her team so we are doing this run to raise money for the children’s hospital Clarendon Wing LGI and hopefully it will help children/babies and there family’s who are going through this themselves any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated thanks for reading our story
