Story
In 2021 I completed the London Marathon for Make-a-Wish UK, and in 2023 I am going back for more with Severn Hospice.
Severn Hospice is an amazing local charity, very close to my heart. They cared for my late father-in-law through his battle with cancer, and more recently provided such excellent care at home for my grandad who sadly passed away on 22nd April 2022.
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it. They do this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help. They provide this amazing service for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, they will spend 83p directly on care - and use the remaining 17p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations helped provide more than £9m of caring services.
Running the London Marathon almost exactly 1 year after his passing, in memory of my Grandad, Donald Keith Rivers, for such an amazing charity will be a honour and a privilege.
Caring for my Grandad in his final stages of life and eventually losing him was an incredibly difficult period of my life. He was everything to me and his loss is felt daily. The care and support from Severn Hospice has been nothing short of outstanding and I want to do what I can to give back.
If you can spare a donation in memory of my Grandad it would mean the world to me and do a great deal of good for Severn Hospice.
