Welcome to our London Marathon 2023 page! Team Blue Cross will be running and fundraising to change the lives of thousands of sick, injured and homeless pets. Thank you for your generosity in helping to raise vital funds for the pets in our care.

Story

I am running the London Marathon this Sunday and raising money for the Blue Cross. My family and I have been involved with this charity since we adopted a rescue dog from them in 2019- it was before Covid and lock downs and little did we know that a year later walking the dog would be one of few acceptable reasons to leave your house during lock down!

He is a much loved member of the family but many people are now having to give up their pets, not just because of the end of lock downs but also due to the increasing costs of living mean they can’t afford to care for them anymore.

So the Blue Cross and other animal shelters are receiving an ever increasing amount of animals while fewer and fewer people have the means or resources to adopt and/or donate to them.

Therefore I want to try and publicise them and all rescue centres as much as I can and to try and blow through the £2,000 target!

Ps that’s Mushu in the picture - he has basically done almost of the training with me but can’t run with me on the day!
