Story
Myeloma is a blood cancer, which is currently terminal (incurable), arising from plasma cells. At any one time there are around 17,500 people living with myeloma in the UK. It accounts for 15% of blood cancers, and 2% of all cancers. Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. My ultimate goal from my skydive is to help contribute towards finding a cure, meanwhile ensuring all patients, including my Dad, along with carers and families of patients, receive access to the right treatment at the right time.
Myeloma UK help myeloma patients, their family and carers, by using your donations to develop new approaches to myeloma treatment through their biomedical research programme, which includes translational research projects and clinical trials. They also use our Health Services Research Programme and patient advocacy to get patients the highest quality of care and access to the best treatments.
Myeloma UK continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness of myeloma. They receive no Government funding and rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising, therefore they could not do what they do without your support. Please donate and help save lives, thank you.
