Story
On the 15th July people across the country will be collectively walking a total of One Million steps for Mercy UK.
About the fundraiser:
The first step in someone’s freedom and healing journey is usually the hardest and bravest: admitting we can’t do this on our own and reaching out for help and support. Every day at Mercy UK, people build up the courage to reach out. We want to journey with as many of them as possible, which is why we need your help!
What I am doing:
The picture above is of me with my running shoes. They don’t get used often. But on July 15th I will be dusting them off and adding 33,000 steps of my own to contribute to our total.
And while I am walking, I want to offer space for people to reach out. I think we could all do with being more vulnerable, and finding ways to connect with each other. But often the invitation to share isn’t there. Or we are worried about being a burden.
So if you’d like half an hour to connect with me, I’d LOVE to connect with you! During my walk, I have 12 half hour slots and I would love for you to book one today. And no, you don't have to donate to chat! I want to connect with you regardless. You don’t have to have something big to share either. Just connecting with others is healing and restorative all by itself.
I am not a trained mental health professional! I’m not a counsellor or a therapist. So please don’t expect any expert advise! But I am one of the chaplains at Mercy UK, as well as being one of the Directors. Which just about counts for something I think :) And I am deeply passionate about people knowing there is tremendous strength in vulnerability.

I will be walking around Temple Newsam. So if you are able to join me for your slot in person, that’d be AMAZING. Otherwise, we can chat on the phone. Or, if you aren’t free on the day, just send me your prayer requests and I can be praying for you during that time instead.
