Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Beyond Everest page.
Everest is considered the pinnacle of all challenges and following the cancellation of my Hope 24 hour race, I am determined to make even more of a difference for Headway Jersey as the charity fights to continue to provide its life changing services following a devastating loss of £100,000.
Everest stands at a height of 8,848m and I'm aiming to go Beyond Everest and achieve a vertical ascent and descent of 10,000m, that's 20,000m or 65,000 ft on the steepest hills and steps of the beautiful island of Jersey.
I am aiming to raise £10,000, that's a £1 for every vertical metre.
Covering locations across the North, East, South and West of the island and with your support, I will give it my very best, with the challenge lasting for 12 hours each day, for 3 days.
Headway Jersey offers specialist support and services for survivors of brain injury, their families, friends and carers.
The Centre provides a safe and welcoming environment for survivors to socialise, engage in arts and crafts and to access services they need to help them with their rehabilitation including neuro-physiotherapy, cognitive therapy and advocacy amongst others.
Causes of brain injury include stroke, tumours, encephalitis, accidents and many other causes. This could happen to any of us, or someone close to us.
