Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I have decided to test my cycling skills and stamina to the maximum and undertake a 350 mile charity bike ride for Help for Heroes. A very worthwhile cause, I hope you agree. With Jo being in the RAF and so many of our friends members of the Forces, it seems right to do something to help.
The H4H “Band Of Brothers Bike Ride” will take place from Sunday 24th May to Saturday 30th May 2009. It starts with a send off from Portsmouth, then cross to Cherbourg and ends with a celebration along the Seine in Paris having made ceremonial visits to the D Day beaches of Normandy and other historical sites of interest along the way.
Day one: Portsmouth to ferry port
Day two: Cherbourg – Bayeux (via Ste Mary Eglise)
Day three: Bayeux to Caen (via coastal beaches; Omaha, Pont du Hoc, Arromanches, Pegaus Bridge)
Day four: Caen – Lisieux (via Villers Bocage, Falaise, Mont Pincon)
Day five: Lisieux – Evreux
Day six: Evreux to Paris. Wreath laying at Arc de Triomph. Finish Eiffel Tower.
